Great question Stuart! Animals help people in many ways. Animals are more important to us than we are to them. As pets, animals provide us with friendship, therapy for the sick, and even as the eyes for the blind.

Without animals we wouldn't have been able to become what we are today. Animals give us food, clothing, and not so many years ago, animals were our main source of transportation. Without animals, farmers from long ago would have not been able to grow enough crops to feed their family. Farmers would use oxen and horses as their tractors to farm the land.

So, without animals we wouldn't have all the great food, clothing, or way of life that we enjoy today!

Thank you and all your animal friends for helping us!

Farmer Pete is absolutely right. Our dogs, Blaze and Dixie, provide us with never-ending love and friendship. Dixie loves to give kisses. They also provide us with security by barking. That is their way of telling us that something is wrong.

Hello Edward's Eagles! This is Mrs. Debby. I am so excited you have a blog. I look forward to talking with you! Your hamster is so cool! I didn't know he could talk. I am glad you have been learning about animals. I have four dogs, a cat and two frogs. Please let me know what else you will be studying and I will tell you what books the library has on that topic. Please send me a message back! Love, Mrs. Debby

Hi Boys and Girls,
I have enjoyed hearing your class pet Stuart talking! He is amazing! I am sure that you are taking really good care of him.
Last week, I visited the North Carolina Mountains....and I want to share a few pictures with you. The mountains are a really beautiful place to see and visit in the fall. While I was there, we had a couple of visitors....to come and eat the bird feed. No, it was not only birds....it was a mama and baby raccoon.
Also, we took a hike and saw a hornet nest. It was really big. I am so glad that the hornets had gone somewhere to visit...so I could get close to their house. I hope that you enjoy seeing the pictures!

Take good care of Stuart!
Love,
Mrs. Linda

hey everyone, chicken lady here, saying THANK YOU!! for the wonderful candle. My family enjoyed it on Thanksgiving day. I had a chicken doctor (vet) come to the coop the other day because the eggs still have no hatched. The vet held the eggs up to a candle and you could see the baby peep inside. The vet said the peeps are protect themself because of the cold weather and may not be out for anothe 14 to 18 days. I think that is amazing how the peeps are keeping warm by staying inside the eggs. I have been get 6 eggs everyday for the last 3 weeks. Thanks again. The Chicken Lady

Hey kids, chicken lady here letting you know that I got 3 eggs from the coop every day this week. I put a heating lamp in the coop at night to keep the chickens warm. The chickens all huddle together on these cold nights. I was thinking about sewing some capes for them to wear at night. what do you all think.
Have an eggwonderful day!
